When to Spread the Word!

Hello ladies. I am only six weeks. My boyfriend is planning a birthday dinner for me tomorrow with our closets family and friends. I think that is the perfect time to tell them we are expecting. Its my first pregnancy. I'm excited, but nervous. I was sceptical about telling anyone before my first trimester was over. When did you ladies spread the word?

A few days after I found out! If something bad happens it is nice to have the love and if nothing bad happens then everyone else can be as excited for you as you are longer!

I told really close friends and family when I found out which was at 5 weeks and 4 days. I'll be announcing on social media for everyone else this today (13 weeks) or next Friday (14weeks)

We told immediate family at 5 weeks. We figured it's a little life, and something to be celebrated.  Even if if ends in miscarriage, we were able to share the joy of our little baby with family.  We told friends & co-workers around 9 weeks.  It has been very difficult for me to hide my morning sickness from my coworkers lol.

We told our parents and really close family at 9 weeks... I had an early miscarriage the last time so we decided to wait a lil longer... And wont be telling anyone else until after our first scan..

We told parents at 8 weeks Christmas Day and officially announced on Valentine's Day at 16 weeks

As soon as I found out I told my family. We wanted to live in the moment and celebrate this baby. Some people just want to be cautious so they wait.

My advice is only tell people you are OK telling if something bad happens... We announced early the first time and miscarried, and wasn't fun telling everyone that. This time we waited till we had a successful 12w US. Ultimately do what you feel is best.

I waited until 16 weeks, but we've had quite a few losses so that's why.
