Reptiles and babies?

Jadelyn • First time mommy, waiting on the arrival of my son, Sterling Orion Dow <3
Currently 26 weeks with concerned family members about our Brazilian Rainbow Boa being in the same room as me now and our baby boy when he arrives. I completely understand salmonella being a concern (even if the chances of that are slim to none) but since I've found out I was pregnant I rarely handle her (vigorously washing my hands right after) and I'm always out of the room when my BF feeds her weekly. I've looked up all the bark and moss, even the plants that we keep in her Vivarium and they all are completely safe as long as we keep up with cleaning it and my BF is awesome with making sure it gets done regularly. I feel the only argument they have against it is 4 years down the road she will be almost 7ft and she may escape her cage. But by that point our little Sterling wont be a newborn and will know how to react and handle her properly. To me I feel the snake is less of a threat to my child than a dog who would constantly jump and knock him over and lick his face. Or a cat that could scratch him if irritated or him getting into the litter box, which is one of my concerns with my aunt who we are living with to save money, she has two cats. I guess this is more of a rant but please let me know what you guys think, especially if you have any reptiles in the house! Ive looked everywhere online to see what could help my argument but no luck finding anything on the subject. Below is a picture of how docile she is ( and tiny ), taken before the pregnancy.
