Is playing guitar while pregnant ok?

Question

I am going to asks dr at my next appt, but that isn't for two weeks. I am supposed to play the guitar and sing at two weddings this summer and I'll be about 6 months pregnant. Is it safe to play the guitar everyday? Do you think the vibrations are ok. I thought it would be fine, but of course I googled it and there was a comment about the skull not fully forming...one lone comment, but of course it got me worried!

Your baby will probably like it! He or she will be able to hear what you are playing, my little one wiggles around when I am listening to music, she loves to boogie! 😄

I agree that playing guitar shouldn't cause any harm. However, it might be tough to play. My friend who plays bass and guitar had issues with the guitar later in term. She just couldn't reach well!

I'm a music teacher and play violin, viola, cello and bass everyday.  I'm 36.5 weeks. No issues.  Belly might get in way of guitar but I've been ok with cello.  Good luck!

I'd think it's fine. My husband is actually sitting right beside me playing for the baby, as he did for both our older sons nearly every day. They always went crazy when he'd start and still do now at 2 and 3 haha.  But especially for two weddings at 6 months, I wouldn't stress at all. My only concern would be that it might be hard to work around a belly!
