Snooping

I just had my boyfriend try and look through my email. I wouldn't let him cause it's my email not his. He was wondering if I was hiding something. I wasn't. But I did do some stupid sh*t a couple months ago. But we are still together. So I'm not sure why he would want to look through my emails. I'm kind of mad at him for trying to look through my emails. While I was trying to get my phone away from him I accidentally hit him in the face with my elbow. He's mad at me at that. I'm not sure how I should feel or what to do. He's just really overprotective I guess. But it's getting to be annoying. So if anyone has advice of what to do or how to help me that would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
