IUD - your experience?

Question

I want to get an IUD! I was on the pill for four years straight and recently went off of it. In a few months I want to start a new birth control method to supplement condoms.

What are your experiences with IUDs?

I went off the pill and my emotional state improved across the board. I feel more open to happiness and sexy stuff. So the fewer hormones, the better.

I love my copper IUD! No hormones, 10-12 years, don't have to think about it every day. I'm on period 5 with it, and they've been longer/heavier since insertion but I'm still hopeful they'll shorten/lighten within a few more. Even with the change my period is still very tolerable. I'm happy :)

I've had mirena no problems, i would cramp like I were getting my period but no period, sometimes just spotting 
got Skyla put in 3 weeks ago and worst that's happened is the cramps.

I had my Mirena inserted back in December last year, and it's been nothing short of fantastic.

I love it.

I haven't had a period since early January.

While my insertion was great, it was bearable, I only bleed for about a week, had some cramping for about two weeks, the nothing.

The best part is I don't have to remember to take my pill everyday anymore.
It's worry free.

All that's needed of me is to check my strings every so often.

It's the perfect birth control for me.

Loved it. Got rid of it a year early because it kept thinning my hair. Took me a while to figure that out. Other than that I had no problems.
