Question about dating shy guy?

I met a really great guy online and we've had a few dates that have went very well. He keeps texting me and initiating contact. I told him I'd like to see him again on more than one occasion. I texted him asking if he was free on Saturday we should get together. He didn't give a definitive answer but keeps texting me about other things. I've been ghosted in the past and I don't want this to happen again or fizzle out. He's told me on many occasions he's shy. But at what point is shy not interested.

Have you ladies ever been in a similar situation? I want to give him space but I can't make it any clearer that I'm interested.
