Thongs

I'm 14 and kinda want to start wearing thongs, but I feel really embarrassed telling my mum and even if I didn't tell her she would find out when she saw them in my draws or of she saw them in the wash. How old were all of you when started wearing thongs (if you wear them) or how can I get my mum to let me wear thongs because I bought a pair of undies that were kinda thin and she was talking about them.
