Painting your nails while pregnant.

I love painting my nails and I do it all the time, but today someone made some negative comments towards me because I painted my nails and all the chemicals in the polish. Anyone been told it's NOT okay to paint your nails during pregnancy? Or does anyone have credible articles or sources that say you shouldn't? I figured if it was a big deal to not paint your nails during pregnancy that it would be talked and warned about almost as much as limiting your caffeine or not eating lunch meat & that OBs would warn against it.
