coffee while pregnant?

how much is too much? I've been drinking one small cup a day.  (about 12 oz house blend)

I made sure to stay under 200mg until several weeks ago (1 cup regular coffee, 1 Starbucks drink with 2 shots). When I talked to my doctor recently she said that limiting caffeine is really the most important in the first trimester and that at 22 weeks I am fine to have that second cup if I want to.

I've actually done some research on this and was bummed at my findings. I am a BIG coffee drinker. We aren't supposed to have more than 200 ml of caffeine which is about an 8 oz cup. Have you ever measured out 8oz?! It's depressingly small. Like 1/2 full of a regular good ol' fashioned sized coffee cup. I've been doing 1/2 reg and the other 1/2 (or more) decaf. Makes me feel like I'm drinking more but isn't going over the recommended caffeine limit. Thank goodness it's only temporary!!

The caffeine in 12 oz is about 130mg. So you can have about 18.5 oz of coffee per day. I have a Starbucks drink with 2 shots in it most days. So about the same caffeine content as your 12oz. :)

That should be fine. I would say between 1-2 cups is fine but listen to your body, if it makes you nauseas, jittery, anything like that maybe the baby doesn't like it.

I used to drink a lot of coffee and used to make it really strong..But I stopped drinking coffee as soon as I found out I'm pregnant..I'm doing okay so far..I don't think 1 cup is bad..I know I can drink a cup, but I just like being off of coffee and alcohol.

200 mg of caffeine. Folgers has about 95 mg per 8oz. So a couple of cups a day is fine if you're not having other caffeine sources

I try to keep it around 200mg a day or below. I've switched to lattes since they usually only have 75-150mg. A small latte is only 75mg more or less and it satisfies my coffee craving and gives me a tiny boost.

I drink caffeine sometimes, it actually has helped my prenatal depression a bit. I just monitor my reaction to it, as I'm sometimes a bit sensitive to caffeine.
