always feeling awkward

hey everyone so i'm 19 and have been dating my boyfriend who is 21 for a little over 2 years now the relationship is very serious and i see myself marrying him once i'm out of college however whenever it comes to sex and intimacy i feel awkward and uncomfortable trying new things. i really don't know what it is but i always feel weird wanting to try something we only ever try weird spontaneous things when we're drunk (i know i'm underage i don't need a lecture my parents let me drink) and i just feel awkward. is this weird for me to feel awkward sexually? and please don't tell me that this means i'm "not ready" for sex because i have been having sex for a while now and i enjoy it. i just don't know how to explain how i feel any comments? thankss
