Anyone have any insight on this?!

Okay, so this might be kind of long but I thought this would be a good place to see if anyone could help ease my mind! So yesterday I went to my obgyn for some mild pain I've been having on my left side just to get things checked out and to make sure everything was good and for peace of mind. She did a pelvic exam and all was fine but the ultrasounds found a 6cm by 4cm cyst on my left ovary that my doctor said needs to be surgically removed as soon as this upcoming Tuesday. 😳😱😶 I'm still kind of in shock and a little worried. She said there is a good possibility they may have to just remove the entire ovary since it is over 3 times the size of a normal ovary. I know ovarian cysts and having them removed is pretty common but has anyone been through this and have any insight or can at least tell me it's not too bad? Haha I'm such a chicken sometimes :)
