Cramping during early pregnancy.

So I went to the hospital today to get confirmation of my pregnancy and an ultrasound. I let the ER Doctor know that I was feeling mild cramps and in the end he told me that I might be showing early signs of a miscarriage but there's no severe pains at all ! These cramps don't feel half as bad as my normal menstrual cramps and that's it no bleeding no dizzyness no morning sickness just cramps.... He scared the shit out of me, they said I'm about 4 weeks based off of my last period and I just want to know if anyone else has ever experienced this symptom? Is it normal or am I gonna miscarry? I'm so nervous and my SO doesn't like when I talk about it because he was so excited when we found out and now I'm being told this news 😒😔
