Judge a book but it's cover

Are you more likely to judge a professional if they have tattoos or piercings?  I have a tongue piercing and several tattoos. Most of my tattoos are covered when I wear a short sleeve shirt but if I wear a long sleeve shirt you can't see them at all. However, I have found that even doing daily things like grocery shopping I see people with more or less (yet visible) tattoos get weird looks when paying or walking around and one lady even commented on the others tattoos, asking how she could be a good mom and have a decent job with those "things" on her skin!
I was honestly shocked, this came from one young person to another. So my question is, are you likely to judge someone like a doctor or lawyer because they have tattoos?
EDIT: why is it always assumed that people with tattoos don't have "decent" jobs? What do you consider to be a decent job?
