Boyfriend Issues...

I need some advice. This guy that I was dating From May of 2014 to November of 2015 still has my heart. Along with some other things I gave him, such as my virginity. I miss being with him but at the same time, once we started getting serious he started to change. He basically became the guy I never pictured myself with. He lied to me frequently about not being able to go out when he was always with his buddies. He left my birthday celebration early so that he could go and spend time with one of his buddies. I know "bros before hoes" but that really got to me. I love him and always will but my mom said that him and I can't be together, just because we had sex. I'm 17 and my mother still runs my life....does anybody have any advice for me? Like should I move on? Should I wait until my mother can't control me anymore? Please help...
