Are we crazy, that we have a no hold rule for family at the hospital?

My husband and I want to have a no hold rule at the hospital when we have our little one. Which means us and the staff are the only ones who can hold him during the hospital stay. When he gets home family can hold him as much as they want. We just feel that bonding needs to between parents during the first couple hours.

I had an emergency y csection with my first and he had to be taken for an EKG, I ended up needing another surgeon called in for complications with adhesions so it would take longer then normal. I told my husband and nurses if anyone held my baby I would divorce him ahahah (hormones) or if they gave him formula id would be pissed. Once I got to snuggle and nurse him and DH got some 1:1 family was welcome to come and visit. It's your day do what you want

We are delivering at a birth center an no one is even allowed to come up there! Everyone will be able to meet baby when we get home later in the day. It is best baby gets as much bonding with mom and dad as possible

I didn't have the need to tell my parents or in-laws. They have common sense, so they gave us time to bond with the baby. Although the following morning, I let anybody hold the baby. My parents and in-laws are very kind anyway so they deserve it.

To each their own, but for you, it's definitely alright if you don't want anybody holding the baby except you, your SO, and nurses. Bonding with your child is very critical after they are born. They need to be with you.

I've asked my bf to nor gave his parents at the hospital until well after we've had a few hours alone to bond. Baby will likely sleep after and I'm ok with them there.

Your baby your choice. I only plan on my husband & parents on holding the baby outside of the hospital staff.

I don't want everyone holding my baby. But close family will be completely fine with.
