Is it selfish of me?

Question

So for those of you that follow know i am having a baby with IUGR.  Im 37weeks+1 but measuring 34weeks exactly. Baby is at 5lbs 5oz.  Dr said she wants to schedule an induction by 39weeks.  Which would be on or around the 24th-31st of March.   Im still hoping i go into labor naturally as im 2cm and 60%. If i dont have her by the 21st would it be selfish of me to ask for an induction at my next appointment?  I really want to be able to spend easter with my son (3)  and dont want to be in a hospital or away from him or have to send him with family.    I dont really want to be induced and im hoping and praying i do go into labor on my own but just incase.   I wanted to get a feel of what other mommys think.

I don't think it's selfish, but I'd personally choose not to be induced until the doctor wants it scheduled at 39 weeks. From the little I know about IUGR, I feel like the baby has more opportunity to catch up on growth and development the longer they are in there. You are already dilating, which is good, so maybe just try walking a lot or some of those safe old wives tales to speed the process up. They didn't work for me, but some women swear by it. You just do what you think is best momma, either way I'm praying for a healthy baby when the time comes 😊🙏🏻

If your doctor is ok with it, then I wouldn't really think so. If there's no reason or harm that you have to wait the three extra days I believe is what you said, then I wouldn't say it's selfish. But if there's a reason why you need to wait, then definitely wait. But I would think if you go in on the 24, you would be out of the hospital by Easter? Unless something is wrong
