When to test

Someone please help !

I am 90% sure I am pregnant although I have not missed a period yet my fiance has even commented how fuller my breasts appear they hurt all day every day nothing is helping this wk is supposed to be my ovulating wk but I thought I would use a test my period last month was only a day so I thought maybe . so I do the test and it comes up with a ? On it after googling i seen that means something went wrong .I don't want to waste more money so my ? Is I'm i testing way to early so it's going to show negative
