Ultrasound/heart question
Wondering if any moms here have experienced this before? Trying not to worry, but naturally it's on my mind.
We had our anatomy scan last week and met with the doctor this week to review it. He said they saw 44 out of 46 things they needed to see.
The two things they needed to see that they didn't were the umbilical cord insertion (but he said that's more common due to baby's position), and they couldn't see her aortic arch.
He is referring us to a high-risk specialist who in 4 weeks will give us another ultrasound to make sure her aortic arch isn't twisted and that she won't need a heart specialist. He said she is most likely just fine, but they just wanna be sure. He said the chances of the aortic arch and something else being twisted (can't remember the exact heart part they mentioned) are about 1 in 2,000 babies.
