Is it common for a baby's heart rate to get slower, further along in pregnancy? My baby's heartbeat has been in the upper 140s since the beginning, now at 22 weeks it's 134?

The bigger the baby gets the lower the heart rate tends to get because of longer circulation time.

I guess so.. in the beginning my baby's heartbeat was over 160 now he's at 137-140 @ 27 weeks.

Yeah it's normal. A fetus heartbeat is considered normal between 120-160. My baby's was 157 at & weeks and at 13 weeks it was 140. Asked the doctor and he said its normal for it to go down. Heart is getting bigger and doesn't have to pump as fast to get to their entire body. Also nervous system has further developed.

At 13 weeks his was 168, at 16+5 it was 155 and at 17 weeks, my anatomy scan measures 17+2, it was 144. Then at 21 weeks it was like 140 I think. I was so tired I don't remember I know it was 150 at first and I said it had gone up since the anatomy scan and so she measured it again just to show me how much and how quickly it can change and it had dropped to 140
