I want to share my mums story.
My mum married my father when she was 18. At 20 I was born and when I was 17 months old my brother was born too... My mother left my father when I was 14 months old she was 22 and pregnant while looking after me all on her own when she was pregnant with my brother she started to work 6 days a week while I stayed with my grandma and sometimes my dad would spend the days with me too. She would work 12 hour shifts and pick me up as soon as she finished work feed me bathe me and do all the things a mum needed to do. When my brother was born she took 4 days off work then went back.. When I was younger I never understood why all this happened why mummy always was at work and not with me and why her and daddy weren't together.... I'm 25 now my mother worked to keep a roof over our heads food in the pantry and clothes on our backs she left my father because he was beating her in front of us and she didn't want us to think that was okay behaviour she struggled for me and my brother and for that I am so proud my mother was a young girl trying to do whatever she could for us. I wanted to take this time out to write this down to show my appreciation not only for my mum but for all those mothers out there that are going through a tough time.
Those mums leaving abusive relationships those mums busting their bums at work and even those stay at home mums doing it on their own! GOOD ON YOU ALL I didn't realise back then what is so clear to me now so thank you mum. For giving me the best in life
