Chronic cough for over a week

Hi Moms, I've been having a cold with cough for over a week now. Obviously no doctor will prescribe anything, all they recommend is honey, tea with lime and honey, halls, etc. none of those have worked for me. Specially at night, I am miserable. I haven't been able to sleep for the last 48 hours. I'm really desperate! Sleep deprived, peeing every time I cough, and having abdominal pain because of it. I've read that some women have taken Ribotussin- and stated their docs allowed them to take it. Anybody here has taken cough medicine like Rinbotussin? *im 31 weeks. Thank you for your advises!
