What is the underlying reason women allow mistreatment from men?

I see women being mistreated by men so often. It's crazy. I'm tired of it.But I wanted to know what the biggest underlying issue is that needs to be stopped to help prevent it for our future generation.

I think a big part of it is seeing how the men in their life treated women and the example they set for the guy at a young age.

If you're a young boy surrounded by men who have a lack of respect for women and his interpretation is that this behavior is okay... It's just going to snow ball when he gets older.

Or on the other hand, if you're a young girl who's around the same situation- you're going to think it's okay and normal to be treated poorly and that this is just how men are supposed to act towards you... You're likely to choose men who don't treat you with the respect you deserve.

People need to make sure they're planting the right values in their children at a young age when they're most influenced by their environment. Lead by example!

Based on how my father has always treated my mother- I expect the absolute best and thankfully that's what I have in my boyfriend now. The example my parents set for me always ensures I never settle for anything less than exceptional.
