Disrespectful children

There are a lot of parents that no longer teach their children respect or manners. The things I see are actually horrid at times. I can write a series of novels. I've had students try to fight me. A student in another class got angry and tried to punch his pregnant teacher to "kill" her baby because he didn't like that he got detention for not completing any schoolwork and being disrespectful. A student picked up a desk and tried to throw it at me for telling him he couldn't sleep in class. Oh did I mention this is elementary school. I'm only discussing 3rd- 5th because that's my floor. When you contact parents, they do nothing or act like this is normal behavior. Or just have "talks" that normally aren't effective or blame the teachers for the disrespect. The pregnant teacher told the mom and the mom was questioning the teacher about what she did or another student did to make him upset ? . What!!!!!???? So because he's upset, it's ok for him to try to "kill babies"? What happened to respect. These kids are disgustingly out of control. And yes I DO blame parents for allowing their children to whatever at home with minimal discipline Because parents don't know what to do or don't do much of anything. A lot of these issues are learned behaviors that are practiced at home and when they come to school and learn how the world works, they lash out because they can't have their way. Some parents really are setting their children up for failure. I don't think you mean to do so, but you are. Children need to be taught basic values. Those things need to be carried out on a daily basis. There are a lot of laws to protect children from adults. But minimal laws to protect adults from children as they are becoming more and more out of control. And not in a positive way. This is just a rant because one of co-workers became extremely fed up with a student. The kid became distracting then aggressive even with the principal. All because he didn't get called on to read out loud because he was talking. The mother was contacted and she didn't feel like coming to the school so we had to call the cops to remove the kids and have the mom pick him up from district. That's how out of control it got. That is a reason I get angry when young teens are on this app wanting to have kids. Some adults don't even have it figured out. There is more that goes into having a child besides buying nice clothes, feeding it, burping it, and trying to get attention & feel grown or keep a boyfriend. Live life.
