CRAMPING on pill

Is it normal to get period like cramps on the combination pill? I'm on my first week of my pills and I've been taking them over a year. I never purposely skip periods using the pills so I get my period every month. I've been getting continuous cramps for about 3-4 days now somewhat off and on in my lower stomach area. Is this normal on the pill? I usually have slight cramps throughout my cycle but this month it feels like legit period cramps but my period is 3 weeks away.
