Should I tell him?

Basically I really like this guy I work with. We've known each other for years but we only really started talking when we were working together. He's one of the nicest people I know! Anyway basically my best friend and I both liked him, he liked her and they both spoke about it and nothing is going to happen because he doesn't do relationships very well. I don't know if I should tell him and get it out in the open or just stay being his friend and act like everything is normal? I want to know what he thinks but I don't want to make work awkward.
