Cat help

Okay so I've had cats my entire life. I have an almost 1 year old cat who is typically an indoor cat. Well lately he's been getting out and jumping the fence. I noticed today that all of his nails are completely shredded from doing so and idk what to do. Should I bandage his paws? Please help

Edit: once I saw his nails, it made me not want to let him outside anymore. He is going to be strictly an indoor cat. He gets plenty of exercise in the house and I'm not worried about him running away. I just don't want him further hurting himself
