Formula feeding only :( preparing formula???

Vanessa

Sorry for making this kind of long!

So since having my baby i've been BFing and formula feeding. She's 1 month now & after a month of trying to bring my milk supply up as it was very low nothing has worked & I'm exhausted mentally & emotionally. After so much failure i'm resorting to formula feed only. I feel horrible because at first I was so adamant to BF only, I didn't realise how hard it would be for me & I'm disappointed in myself because I feel like I'm giving up so soon. As much as it pains me I can't do it anymore. I know formula feeding is not a horrible thing, its still providing what baby needs but as a FTM i was excited to be able to do what my body was meant to do (little did i know) I really wanted to be able to have those moments with my baby dispite the sore nipples lol. I also didn't realise how much of a hassle it is to prepare formula (I was using the ready to use formula) now that I'm going to full time formula feed, I'll be using powdered formula & I'm not quite sure what's the best way to prepare it & I'd very much appreciate to hear some advice and the way you ladies using formula are doing it. What I'm considering now is pre boiling water enough to use for a few hours & letting it cool. when its time to feed baby, boil water, add formula to boiled water (because i hear you have to kill bacteria the formula has) then add the pre boiled water afterwards to cool it down fast and if I do, do that can I leave the pre boiled water out to be room temp. Or should i refrigerate? I'm also thinking pre making bottles of formula, storing them in the fridge untill needed & heating them up in a bottle warmer & although I've read you can store pre made formula milk in the fridge for 24 hours I'll feel better making them in batches throughout the day so the formula wont be sitting so long in the fridge.

Thank so much for reading and I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
