Baby haircut waiting till 1?

Question

So my baby has his hair in his eyes so I have to swoop it to the side. I was thinking about cutting it but I overheard my dad saying to my stepmom that you have to wait till he was a year old. I should have asked him why. Does anybody have a reasoning for this? I'm pretty sure it's a wives tale but not sure what it is.

My brother waited until his son turned one just because he hair was longer in some places than others. He waited so it could be cut evenly.

I had my sons hair cut before 1 years old after being told not to and it did in fact grow back more coarse. He had beautiful curls and it's never been the same since, he is now 8. Lesson learned

In my family (I think most people do it in my country) we don't cut hair until a child is walking and talking, as it messes with their development. But that is strictly a old wives tale. I'm not gonna give my son the option to cut his hair until it's time for him to start school just because I believe your hair is your crown and should not be tarnished unless it's by personal choice. The most he'll get is a line up.

Each babies hair grows differently. It you think it needs a trim, go for it. My daughter had a spot on her head where the hair was obviously longer than the other half, so I pulled out my scissors. Nothing weird has happened to her hair since cutting it.

My mom would say because it will mess up the baby hair because it's not matured yet, and if you cut it it will grow in corse. But who know probably isn't true but I will wait with my baby lol

Nothing bad happens if you cut it before age 1. Its just that the kiddos hair doesnt really grow in thick untill 1 so it might look like they dont have any fullness. I waited untill my little boy was 2, but i just loved his curls too much lol
