Weed??? Around kids

Question

This is off some poll I saw on here one of the options was " smoke all the time even with your kids around "
That option was actually chosen 10% I think .

Wouldn't this affect the kids in any way ? Jus curious?

*personally I don't smoke and wouldn't allow this in my home *

It's smoke, ofc it's going to affect them. Plus it's a drug, period. I have no issues with adults using responsibly, but you don't get to subject your children to it as well.

I'm all for legalization, but smoking it openly around young children is a great way to get protective services involved.

Yes it would affect the kid. Not only do they get to witness mom and dad doing something illegal (great parenting!), but they'll be brought up thinking drugs are okay at a young age. Not to mention they get to grow up seeing mom and dad high all the time. Also, it seems these parents don't think about the fact that since weed is illegal(except in California) if they get caught with it, they're going to jail and their kid is going to possibly be taken away. Or the child tells his friends & friends parents that you're doing drugs around them and they call CPS- they will view that as child neglect, and you'll be going to rehab whether it was *just a little crystal meth* or *just a little weed* illegal drugs are illegal drugs... Period. Pot smokers will come up with any & every stupid excuse in the book to keep using- which states clearly to me that the drug IS addicting. It's a shame. Adults are supposed to set good examples, and they could start by just obeying the laws, seems like a pretty simple place to start, IMO.

I don't think it's any different than drinking around your kids. Whether or not either of those things is appropriate depends on the level of use and frequency.

I think it exposes it to your children to it sooner rather than later which could either mean that they're more inclined to smoke at an earlier age or that they have a stronger aversion to it. But like - people deciding how they feel about weed has to happen at some point.

While I was in Texas I met a family who didn't hide the fact that they smoked - like the parents I mean. They treated it kinda like alcohol, tbh.

We smoke in our room or our master bathroom because I wouldn't want my kids around all the smoke and have my house smell like weed, but I also see it being the same as drinking a beer around your kids too so I guess it goes both ways. Obviously drinking doesn't make smoke. But I'd eat an edible around my kids, they probably woulndt even notice. My older son knows about marijuana and knows that we use it
