Nuvaring and depression

Today I got and picked up a prescription for the nuvaring, and will be inserting it the Sunday following my next period in May. Thing is, I spoke with my doctor and have she has come to the conclusion that I may also be mildly depressed. She told me that the hormones wouldn't affect me that much and would just make me a bit more irritable, but has anyone dealt with birth control and dealing with mild depression?
