Opinions???!!!

In February I had my little baby girl. Her dad wasn't there when she was born and has only seen her a handful of time since she was born on the 22nd it had been a full month since he's seen her. He keeps lying to me and his mom and dad about having a job I literally have no clue where he lives or what he does with his time. None of my business so I don't ask. Long story short I filed for child support on him because I need help with the hospital bill that her and I accumulated and my obgyn bill as well. The only thing I would want the chill support for is so that it could cover child care so that I can go back to work. Needless to say we have a court date and he told me that he's not paying chill support and he would try and take her from me keep me (which is hilarious to me since he obviously doesn't even want her in the first place) anyways I met with his dad and his dad told me he thinks my daughter and I would be better off without him because either way I'm not gonna get help from him because he can't keep a job. Since we aren't married he hasn't signed the acknowledgment of paternity so as I now I am legally responsible. I guess what I'm asking is should I still keep the court date or just drop it all since I'm not gonna get help either way it goes? What's ur opinion
