He's being secretive...
I rarely get to see my boyfriend, but when i do, we always have the best weekends together.
This weekend was different though, he was being rather secretive.
He is a perfectionist, and has been looking for a birthday present for me, even though my birthday isn't until August.
I understand that he wants it to be a surprise, even though he hates surprises and cannot keep anything a secret, but something was rubbing me the wrong way.
For example, his phone went off and it was beside me, so without touching it I looked over at it to see who had messaged him, and he got incredibly defensive, saying I shouldn't have looked at his phone when I quite clearly did not make a move to touch it.
We also only had sex once. I know this doesn't seem like that big of a deal to some, but sex is a big thing for us, it always has been, but for some reason it just didn't really happen this weekend.
He is an amazing person, he is my bestfriend and I trust him with my life, but I feel like he's a bit off lately.
I know it's probably just my birthday present he's hiding and I'm being overly emotional over it, but I just need to get it off of my chest.
Our 3 year anniversary is coming up as well, but he seemed very unenthusiastic about that, and shrugged it off, saying: "anniversaries only matter when your married." He has never said that before.
We've already talked about it, and he didn't really have a definitive answer, just saying that he wasn't hiding anything, all the whilst not making eye contact.
Should I be worried?
Should I just continue as always?
