HUGE Baby Shower???

So, this will be our third child; Our first and second were Fraternal twins--a boy and a girl, born at 28 weeks exactly on April 23rd 2015. Our daughter passed away on May 7th, and our son came home from the NICU in late June. 
Because our baby came home on oxygen, we weren't willing to have a coming home party, and we never even got the chance to throw a baby shower because I went into labor so early. So we just kind of bought everything for our son the day before he came home from the NiCU--it was very 'not special' indeed.
Assuming I'll make it to term this time, this would be my first ever full term pregnancy, and thusly very special. I want to plan a big baby shower--a huge one, actually. With games, prizes, food... I plan to request that the guests at least bring one baby gift.
But because I've been pregnant before, does this look bad on me, even though I've never had a baby shower or a regular, healthy baby before? Is it tacky to have a huge shower for a second child? I need opinions! I am only 8w + some days, but between a gender reveal and a baby shower I haveyhe party planning itch!! Advice??

I'm really sorry for your loss and so happy to hear you're pregnant again! I say go for the big shower, you deserve it! But - do t specifically ask people to bring gifts. It's just not tactful. They know it's a baby shower, and I'm sure gifts will be forthcoming whether you ask for them point blank or not.

I really am sorry for your loss, and congratulations on your pregnancy. I would never request for people coming to bring "at least one gift". I think that just looks greedy, people should come to celebrate and not feel obligated to bring something. It just takes the thoughtfulness out of it. I think a baby shower is a good idea though, you never had one with your previous pregnancy. Good luck 😊

Do both!! Celebrate in the way you want to! If someone has an issue with it, well they shouldn't be attending. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I say do it but don't be pushy and say bring a gift 9 times out of 10 they will bring a gift . ☺️

Go for it! The only thing I wouldn't do is specifically ask people to bring gifts. Just put a line on the invitation that says "We are registered at Babies R Us" (or wherever you register) and guests will will bring gifts. It's assumed to bring gifts at a shower :)
