Breadwinning moms?

Question

Any other bread winning moms out there? Just had our second kid and grappling with what to do for daycare/childcare when I go back to work. I can't stop working bc I support the family, but I'm not too sure my husband wants to stay home either.  In order for it to make sense financially, he'd need to find a significantly higher salary just to afford two daycare costs.

Anyone else in this predicament? What did you do?

What if your husband worked part time? 2-3 days daycare would halve costs, plus he wouldn't have to do sahd all week and could still work

We have one baby now and we both work full time however I fed make a lot more than hubby and once we pay down some debt and start having child 2 and 3 we have discussed making him a SAHD. Childcare costs is truly ridiculous

I'm the breadwinner, but I work crazy weird hours.  My husband works a office job that pays crap and has no benefits, but daycare wouldn't work with my schedule.  It's tough, and we have baby number 2 on the way.  I wish he could get a better paying job, but if he sticks with it he'll eventually own the business.

I have a house husband too! I'm a nurse and work night shift and I just put him in real estate school so he'll be able to be home most of the time 😊

My husband and I have also been grappling with this situation, I am a Nurse Practitioner and he works while he's in school, finishing this semester (I'm due in October). He's going to have to work to keep our health insurance for now and we are using his left over income after benefits for childcare...that's for now until we can work out a better option for health insurance. I feel bad not having one of us watch our own child but luckily it's a friend who will be keeping our child 👶🏻

I am a teacher, and the breadwinner. My SO has been staying home caring for our little one for almost 2 years. I never thought he'd last 6 weeks...but he has plans to start working weekends and nights so he can continue to stay home with our son.

I was recently. I have a 9 year old and 6 month old now. I went back to work for a month and ended up going part time. My SO works full time earning less but I make about what he does by only working 22-24 hours per week. We only need daycare a couple days a week now so it's more like $400/mo instead of $1200/mo. I'm also finishing my degree in business while working PT but even if I were only home with the kids (only baby come school time), it'd be worth it. They're only little once.
