Period or popped cherry?

Hey! So last night my boyfriend was fingering me and it was phenomenal. Then my sister runs down the stairs and he rips his fingers out quickly and they were covered with blood and there was blood all over the blanket. He says he went in the deepest he's ever been and felt something he never felt before so he thinks my cherry is popped. It didn't hurt as far as I can remember, it just felt really good. I had been having some period spotting for a couple days before so I'm not sure if it was my period. Someone please help I'd like to know!

He likely hit your cervix or you got your period. There's no such thing as a cherry to pop; that's a common myth. The anatomy of your vagina is complex but there is absolutely no cherry. There's a hymen, but it's not supposed to be broken because there's naturally an opening for a penis or fingers to enter through. However, sometimes it can tear, leading to a small amount of bleeding. (Some women don't have the opening, however that is a medical condition which needs a medical procedure to fix.)

If it's not your period, an excessive amount of blood like you described warrants a visit to the doctor. Something, in that case, would be wrong. I'm not trying to scare you, just help you out. 😊
