Do you think this girl is lying or may be the truth?

So I was talking to a close cousin and he was telling me about a girl he currently talk too.

He told me that the girl told him that she went to the hospital for a headache yesterday. She tells him this morning that she recently had sex with a ex and might have a std. He asked her what did she have and she said she doesn't know and that they didn't tell her what it is. He told her that they should have told her and treated her if possible. She said they didn't, they just gave her meds for her headache. She told him that she has an appointment with a gyn on may 16th. And that she is going crazy and wants to kill herself.

I feel like she may be lying and is just seeking attention. Because what doctor will not tell you what std you have but that you have a std, won't treat you for it and make you wait for almost two weeks to tell you what you have? I understand maybe a few days but 2 weeks? What do you guys think?
