When to leave work?

I've been thinking of when should be my last day at work. Maybe two weeks before I'm due. I'm not sure, I would work up to a couple days of my due date but I work 45mins from home and hospital. So I don't feel comfortable with that. When is everyone else planning to leave work?

Are you planning on going back? I know sometimes they take that time off your maternity leave. Just something to check into. If you already know they don't then I would take off 2 weeks before. Lol but then what if you go till 42 weeks... Is this your first? So hard to tell!!! Sorry I'm rambling lol good luck!!

Well I would like to take off ASAP because I need time to prepare for the baby and get my other children prepared as well I work so much and my job is so stressful! And I'm not really sure if I want to go back to that job so I'm going to be looking for another job in my field while I'm on maternity leave!

I'm planning on working through the week of my due date if I don't deliver by then (due tues, would stay through fri). If I happen to go past my date I'm going to start my leave the following week (41 weeks).  I only get 6-8 weeks paid through short term disability insurance and I'm using all 4 weeks of my vacation toward leave as well. Personally I just do t have the time nor do I want to waste my leave on time before she's born.

I'm going to maternity leave about 2 weeks before my due date. My first kid was born 2 weeks early and who knows maybe this will be the same. I just don't want to be at work while I'm in labor, plus I work at a Dr's office so I feel like a set date is best.

Considering going to my due date, and if I pass it then do half days only or telecommute. My birth center is closer to my job than my home so I'm not worried about distance, but still I'd hate to get the conference room floor all wet if my water broke during a meeting lol
