Lady Advice

Hey gang,
So I am 23 and my mom/ public education/ whatever, never really informed me about lady health. I know really nothing about pap smears, I know that something is off about my period, and I have never been to a gynocologist.
I started periods in high school and they were regular for about a year, then they would come about every three months and they would be like 2 weeks long and super heavy. I don't remember the last time I had a period and I'm embarrassed to initiate that conversation with my doctor, because I'm 23 and have no idea what's going on.
I come from a place where we simply don't talk about that and you just deal with it, but I want to be well informed and educated on the matter. (Also then I can teach my nieces and daughters and what such about it later.)
Help a sister out!!
Thanks!
