Why does my phone takes long to charge?

I put my phone to charge at 1am and woke up at 5 and was still charging it was 77% its been doing this a lot. Before it would right right away now it takes hours. I have the galaxy s 6.

Need a new battery. And you should only use the charger that the phone came with.

Sounds like you either need a new battery or the phone may not be actually holding the charge. It might actually be Decharging when its supposed to be charging. I had this problem when I had a galaxy blaze… It would charge fully and then if it was left on the charger it would start to decharge. I think this is a pretty common problem with the Samsung phones. I haven't experienced that at all since I got my iPhone.

You may need a new battery. How long have you had the phone? If its not the battery then it may be a defect in the phone. If you have insurance on your phone you may be able to get a phone replacement.
