It's also a bad idea because you have an open sore and anything he might have has an easier way to get into your blood stream. Random fact...people who have had more than 6 or more oral sex partners are 3 1/2 times more likely to get throat cancer because so many people are getting HPV related throat cancers from oral sex. You can always use flavored condoms and dental dams to reduce your risk. Not trying to lecture, I teach Sex Ed and always try and teach protection and reducing risk

I wouldn't because you don't know for certain that it's not a cold sore. Cold sores can be transferred to genitalia. I'd hold off if I were you.
