Easy feeder?

I'm just wondering why my LO eats of one side every 3 hours for an average of 12 minutes 8x a day. Anyone else like this?? I've read everyone else's latch both sides for 30 minutes. She's gaining weight fine, so I guess I'm lucky?

My baby is like that. She gets full on one side, eats for about 10 mins, and she's hungry every 2.5 - 3.5 hours.

Mine eats off of both sides for about 25 minutes total about half of our feedings. Then the other half she seems to just want to eat off of one side for 10-20 minutes. She's gaining weight so I'm not super concerned. My mom said that she could never get me to eat off of both breasts during one feeding. As long as your milk supply is good, I bet your baby is just an efficient eater :)

My daughter has fed from one side each feeding since she was born and she's just over 4 months now. She is only on my breast for no more than 10-15 minutes and she gained weight amazingly, almost doubling her weight by the first month and almost tripling her weight by her third month (she was born a month early)!

How old is she? My daughter is 6 weeks old and will often only need to eat for 10 mins or so. But sometimes she goes hard and we are nursing for 30-40. That's only maybe once a day though, in the evening.

Babies develop preferences. Offer the side he doesn't like first and then switch.

My son was like that in the beginning, partially because I had an oversupply. I got a stomach virus when he was 8 months old and my supply took a dip, so now he eats off both sides but it still only takes about 10-15 minutes, he nurses about every 4 hours and eats solids during the day too (he's 10 months now). I'd say yes, consider yourself lucky! I know I did.
