Advice Needed

Ashley
I've seen the lactation consultant at our hospital 3 times to have my baby weighed and her latch checked. Each time everything has turned out great except for me being in severe pain when I nurse her. (She is 1 month old.) On the first visit we discovered that she has a lip tie. I just know that's what the problem is, but the consultant seems to think we can work through it. I'm getting so frustrated. I have been pumping her bottles for my nipples to heal but they just start hurting again when I nurse her. I guess my question is, should I get a second opinion? Maybe from her pediatrician? I think having her lip tie correction will be the best option for us but the lactation consultant keeps telling me not to put her through an unnecessary procedure.
