Is This Just Normal Procedure Or Should I Be Worried ?

This Is My First pregnancy & I tend to over think a lot of things, I can't help it I want my baby girl healthy but today my Dr told me to track her movements & she had to move  10 times or more  every 2 hours . 
He said If she moves less to go into the ER , is this something every Dr tells expectant mothers around 34 weeks ? Am I just thinking to much into your opinions would definitely help me 🙊

My docs said the same thing, to not count them til 34 weeks. But only do a kick count IF I feel something is off and make sure I do it when he is active normally, otherwise don't bother.

This is very normal practice.  A lot of Drs have women start daily kick counts at 28 weeks when baby's movement becomes more reliable and to continue throughout the pregnancy.

This is normal procedure for all women. I haven't been asked to track specific movement but she asks how he's moving at each appointment.

Yes, I was told this as well around 28wks. After eating to lay on side for an hr and baby is supposed to kick around 10 times. I'm familiar with his movements so I don't worry as much.

They call this "kick counting" and is something everyone does. I don't even count because I know he moves plenty. One day I couldn't remember him moving at all, though, so I had to try to get him to move so I could count. If you don't feel him move by the end of the day, drink some cold water or orange juice and lie down. He should move eventually and it should be the 10 movements in 2 hours or whatever you doc says. It's literally every little kick, punch, flip, or roll that you'll count too.

The reason you do this is to make sure baby is still healthy, getting nutrients, and has enough room to keep growing. If baby doesn't move enough, it could mean something has change and needs to be checked out.

I was told this at 32 weeks, he just said it was to give me a basis in case one day I feel like he's hardly moving at all! I'm not worrying about it too much though!
