He said he lost feelings

I don't know how to feel and it hurts but I know I can't change how he feels, but I feel like I tried too hard to keep the relationship and it sucks. He just confuses me when he says that I don't know if his feelings will come back. I don't like being gave false hope. I can't always wait and see and then have it all crush my feelings again. I don't know what to do or feel.
