Pregnancy scare, help me?

I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative... (Only one line appear) I took it on my 5th day of my missed period.. Is it too soon for a home pregnancy test to give me an accurate result? I still haven't started my period and I'm stressing. My boyfriend used a condom and we don't remember the condom ripping or something. It was my first time.
