Do I need special baby detergent or...

Is the dye and fragrance free stuff okay? I have a bunch of laundry to get done before our little one gets here!

Yesterday I compared the ingredients of dreft and all free and clear when I went to target. They have the same ingredients except dreft had "enzymes", I can only imagine enzymes are for stain removal but I'm not sure. All of the research I did in all free and clear though, noted that it was a comparable detergent to dreft without that inflated price.

I just got generic free and clear made by All detergent. I don't think you need anything fancy... But I don't like how it doesn't smell like anything lol so once I use that stuff up I'll check out some other brands that make free and clear but at least smell good

My dr told me dye free, fragrance free is the best. He said the baby Dreft really isn't very good at all. And it gave my son eczema. As soon as I switched to dye free it went away!

The all free and clear ones are okay to use! I did buy a bottle of Purex baby because I love the smell and it was only like $4.

I wouldn't use most commercial detergents even the free and clear on myself or my child. They are all still full of chemicals and fragrence. We use Eco nuts in our house.

Whatever you use on babies close you should use on all the other laundry too. It doesn't make sense to use different detergent as the residue from your "normal detergent" will still be in the washer when you was the baby stuff.

If you're cloth diapering you'll need to buy special detergent for those otherwise they won't absorb liquids properly.

I had problems with the detergent with my son I had to use the all baby detergent but I don't buy anything different for my clothes I use what I have use with my son unless this one has an allergic reaction to what we r using now than I will find something for all of us again. I will not use two different detergents tho because the baby will be touching my clothes and don't want it to be different than what he uses

None of my kids have had any reactions to the laundry soap we use. I don't buy special detergent.
