Baby Hates Cradle!

Can someone please help me!! My son is 5 days old and he hasn't slept anywhere but in my arms. Every time I try and put him in the cradle he is there for at most 5 minutes and then wakes up crying and isn't happy until he is nursed again. I am exhausted. Can someone please provide me some advice to allow kiddo to sleep in the cradle?! I understand it may only be for an hour or two... But I need something!! My butt is starting to hurt from sitting on it all the time!!
