Who should pay?

Okay so here's the scoop! My dad works away for months at a time and this last time he left for work I lent him my car. He will be gone for approximately 4 months. My insurance is $100 a month so that's a total of $400 for the time he's gone. My question is....should he be paying the insurance while he's using it since its for a decent length of time or should I continue to pay for it even when I'm not using it since it is my car? It's not a huge deal to me either way but I was just talking to my friend about it and was curious as to what others opinions are. TIA! 😄

It wouldn't hurt for him to pay you the money for it. Continue your payments as you would but since you're helping him out he could help you out by reimbursing the insurance money.

I let my mom use my car to go see her sister in Florida and she was planing on 2 months and it turned into 4. I had a friend tell me that I needed to have my mom pay the insurance to save me money. I went in and spoke with my insurance agent and after a short talk I did not feel it was would save me enough in the long run. When my mom got back we talked and she gave me a little of money for the insurance. So I would say just talk to your dad about it but in the long run its your car and the insurance is protecting you.

Before I could I drive my foster dad paid my car payment because he was driving my car to and from work. He also took care of cleaning it for me cause he works at a coal mine.
