When did you say..

I know everyone and every relationship is different, but when did you/your partner first start saying "I love you" and who was the first to say it? Did you expect it or did it totally surprise you? Just want to hear about everyone's special moment :)

We were FWBs with a strict NO FEELINGS policy. He didn't want marriage or kids and is 12 years older so a relationship would have been a terrible idea.

One night he thought I was sleeping and he whispered I love you. I didn't say anything. Then he did it AGAIN a couple nights later. The next morning I couldn't help it and I yelled at him, lol. "Did you tell me you loved me last night?!"

We've been married a year and our son is due in 25 days! ❤

My SO told me during sex lmao!!! He said that he was thinking it and it was verbal diarrhea. At the time we had only been together for a week. Now we are happily married. And because of that everytime we are being intamit he whispers in my ear i love you. Makes my heart melt even after 2 years!

June will be 6 years together, 5 years married. DH said it first after only 3 weeks together. I didn't say it until 4 or 5 months together. I had just come out of a bad moment in life and just wasn't ready when he was. Although looking back now I was in love with him earlier on but couldn't see it then.

I said it about two or three months into our relationship (we had been FWB for practically a year before). He was dropping me off at my house on his way to work, in a crappy mood. I said "have a great day! Love you!" And he looked at me, his eyes wide. I realized what I did, said in a really strange, deep voice "that was awkward." Jumped out of his car and ran into my house. 
In the end, he thought it was hilarious and we talked about it. It's now a running joke between us. 
He ended up saying i love you back a month later on Christmas. It was perfect.
