Hospital bag & diaper bag?

Hello I'm a FTM and I'm confused! I've been reading a few posts and noticed some ladies are picking both hospital and diaper bag. I thought all we need was a going home outfit and a few other clothing items. What is the whole diaper bag for?

It just depends on what you want. A lot of hospitals provide what the baby will need such as diapers wipes pacifiers onesies blankets etc. If you prefer the baby use what you have then you can bring your own. I'll only be bringing baby socks and a going home outfit as well as a blanket

I'm packing my bag with my things and my husbands and my daughters clothes in her diaper bag. I'm taking her coming home outfit, a few others just to put her in(I am having a csection so we will be there a extra day), her hospital picture outfit, and a few other things for her. I did this with my son and I felt organized knowing all her stuff was in her bag and ours was in mine.
